Tax time is over and buyers for Mt. Hood forest service cabins are out and searching. Pent up demand and minimal cabin supply has caused multiple bidding on many cabins which hit the market.
In this competitive market it is important, if you're looking to buy, to have an agent who can instantly put you in touch with what hits the market. I offer this service for instant emails so if this is something you'd like to receive, give me a call.
Two of the last four cabins that became available had multiple offers within days. Prices end up over list. Inventory has never been so light for Mt. Hood cabins.
Why are cabins in such high demand? The settings are spectacular! Pristine forests with mountain rivers and streams are the perfect destressor for a hectic city life. Where else can you drive one hour away, a big bonus with rising gas prices, and experience the outdoors with the Mt. Hood National Forest as your playgound?

Many buyers looking for that special vacation getaway are searching for a home with unique characteristics. This link will take you to a couple of my favorites properties available on the market right now. All three are on or near a river, have water features near by. You can sit on a deck and hear or see a river from each one. Wood floors and walls bring a warmth that sheetrock just doesn't convey. A crackling fireplace and a good book to read while the rain falls give a relaxing weekend getaway from the city. Only one hour away from Portland makes for a very easy to get to retreat!
Only 15 minutes to premium ski areas and thousand of miles of Mt. Hood National Forest trails in your backyard make this playground a must for any vacationer.
Three great vacation getaways on Mt. Hood
If you would like to schedule a viewing of any of these homes give me a call or drop an email!
The numbers are in for 2006. Take a look at the mountain's appreciation over the past thirteen years. National news doesn't sound good for the real estate markets but with steady numbers like these the Mt. Hood market is maintaining fairly well. Naturally there are market segments which can be taken out of these figures to give a more realistic picture of true appreciation but on the whole, we are maintaining very well compared to other areas rampant with foreclosures and pricing pressures bringinig values down.
Hit the brakes! This is a great property on 4.77 acres of land near Sandy. It's close to town but has a very private setting. There's over 3700 square feet of living space. Wood from floors to ceilings and radient heat make this a warm and cozy home. There is a river rock propane fireplace in the living room and master bedroom.
I love the gourmet kitchen with skylights, island, and tons of cabinets. A breakfast bar is handy too. There is a convection over, electric overnand a gas stove for cooking.
The home has an attached oversized two car garage, a handy laundry room, huge deck off living room for outside barbeques. The main level bathroom boasts a clawfoot tub and pedistal sink. All bedrooms are on the main floor.
A sturdy steel shop which is 20 X 40 has a concrete floor. This would park your RV or boat.
The sellers enjoy a garden area, fruit trees and tons of berries!
