Mt. Hood National Forest Homeowner's Meeting

Real Estate Sales on Mt. Hood for March 2015 Summary

by Liz Warren

Recent numbers came in from RMLS for March 2015 mountain area sales.

Mt. Hood Real Estate Sales for March 2015

Area 153, as defined by RMLS, compromises the Mt. Hood market and is physically a smaller area than probably most as listed in RMLS stretching from Government Camp to the Cherryville Hill area between Brightwood and Sandy. This space stretches around 30 miles as the crow flies from one end of Highway 26 to the other.

I'm bringing this up because despite what these numbers tell us, our market is hoping and it's not really reflected in the RMLS numbers. The thirteen closed sales is consistent with the numbers we've seen through 2014 for a very strong market.

March stats were a bit surprising considering the amount of activity our office has seen. Pending sales are down nearly 40% from last year from March 2014. Marketing time is improving as inventory that had been sitting for sale a long time is moving out. Nearly a third of the current inventory came to market in March with 26 new listings! Our amazing spring like weather has led sellers to getting started early in the marketing process. We predict a very busy spring of sales.

Log home lovers will enjoy this well maintained cabin on just under a half acre in Rhododendron. Beautiful sunny lot with views of Hunchback and Zig Zag Mountain and you can listen to the Zig Zag River only a block away. The front covered porch is quiet and relaxing and the back deck has a sitting area and hot tub. There's even a camp fire ring for stories at night. Take a break from your book and throw some horse shoes at the horse shoe pit in the yard.

Lots of room in this home with two spacious bedrooms on the main level and a full bath with laundry facilities too. Morning Coffee

by Liz Warren

Monday Morning Coffee

INSPIRATION FOR TODAY:

"It is a simple procedure to calculate the number of seeds in an apple. But, who among us can say how many apples there are in a seed?"
~ Dr. Wayne Dyer

WANT ABUNDANCE IN YOUR LIFE?

Who among us would answer "NO" to that question? Yet abundance often seems beyond our reach. We see it in others, but do not believe it is in us. We see ourselves as the apple (limited), rather than the seed (limitless).

So, what's the first step on the road to abundance? Wayne Dyer thinks it is giving thanks - for what you already have. That might include good health, a new baby on the way, loving parents, a career you enjoy, or money in the bank. You do have a few things going for you - right?

Just as the potential of the seed in the apple is limitless, so is your ability to attract abundance. By focusing on what you already have, you begin to deny what you don't. Your attention is drawn away from the scarcity in your life - and towards the abundance that already exists in your world.

You may be thinking that when you achieve abundance, you will finally be complete. Therein lies the surprise - that you are already complete. You are never going to get it all, because you have it all already. That's right. If you are not currently thankful for the good in your life, having more of it will make no difference.

The secret to abundance then lies within you. Place your thoughts squarely on what you already have, be grateful, and it will expand beyond your wildest dreams. Believe you have nothing until you get more, and you will spiral endlessly downward in despair at how unjustly the world is treating you.

Want abundance in your life? Think about it!

Camp Creek 1926 Log Cabin Mtl Hood National Forest

by Liz Warren

Log cabin on Camp Creek built in 1926 in the Mt. Hood National Forest. Wonderful pristine location just past Rhododendron and only about 10 minutes to skiing. This original cabin has paned windows, vaulted ceilings, a cozy kitchen, main floor bedroom, and a sleeping loft upstairs. The wooden curved staircase takes you up to the sleeping loft with two large beds.

A newer upgraded septic system is a big bonus. The handy outbuilding is perfect for storing wood and toys. A spacious deck overlooks Camp Creek with easy access down to the water. This creek is kid and dog friendly compared to swifter local river ways. Tall firs surround the cabin in a pristine setting. The Mt. Hood National Forest boast tons of hiking and biking trails nearby. It's a short drive to several area restaurants.

Only about one hour from Portland, this is a wonderful cabin for a weekend getaway for fun and recreation. Just listed for $168,500.
